It all started back in September, 1993. A
handful of local Mopar owners speculated there was enough interest from area Mopar people to
create the area's first Mopar club. Word was
passed along, phone calls were placed and
the first meeting was held. The 12 founding
members met and drafted the club's
by-laws, planned for future events and
created our logo. In March, 1994, the
Michiana Mopar Association was
born.
Since then, the club has grown to nearly 160 current
(and non-current) members. We annually host two car shows and participate in
many car events and other civic
events as a group. Over the years we have generated enough funds to maintain our club and still
donate thousands of dollars to various local charities, including:
* American Red
Cross
* Child Abuse Prevention
Services
* Family and Children's
Center
* Food Bank of Northern
Indiana
* Mishawaka High School
Engineering
* Ronald McDonald
House
* South Bend First Methodist Church Glove
Program
* St. Vincent DePaul
Society
* The Salvation Army
* Toys for
Tots
* Thanksgiving Food
Baskets for the needy
* Our Own "Adopt a
Family" Program for needy families at Christmas time
Michiana Mopar Association is proud to be able to "give back"
to our community and help those less
fortunate while enjoying our Mopars!
Members enjoy
the many club activities throughout the year such as the
club sponsored shows, road rallys,
field trips, cruise-ins and parades. MMA's future is bright. There seems to be no shortage of vintage
Chrysler products and those who drive
them. New members are always welcome.
